TYPES OF TENANCY
  • Secure Tenancy
This type of tenancy does not have a time limit in which you have to occupy or leave the place. The occupant can stay there for as long as they wish as long as they don’t brake the agreements they have signed with the owner. However the only way evict a person in cases like this is with a court order and the tenant will be given a months notice before they have to leave the place.
  • The Introductory Tenancy
Introductory tenancy is exactly what the name suggests. It gives the option to the tenant to have a sort of trial period occupying the place. This is usually a time of one year and the tenants will have fewer rights then secure tenants. If that period goes well and there are no conflicts the tenant will automatically be put under secure tenancy.
  • Assured Tenancy
Even after your fixed term has come to an end you still have the right to possession of the property. Getting rid of the tenant can only be done in two ways which include getting a court order and the other way is for the tenant to leave voluntarily.
  • License tenancy
When you are “on licence” the landlord can evict you at any point of time without or with very little notice time. Usually you will be given one month to leave the place if the Council requires so.
  • Tenancy agreement
The tenancy agreement is the done soon as the two parties have come to a mutual agreement; they are the Landlord and the Tenant. Things like the rent and notice time are agreed upon as well as other things the landlord may have in mind. However the landlord must comply with the actual laws of the property and know what to request.
